Discover Seoul Bird

Tucked inside Westfield London at Additional Ariel Way, London W12 7GE, United Kingdom, Seoul Bird is the kind of place you walk past once and immediately double back to. The smell hits first-crispy fried chicken, smoky gochujang glaze, and that sweet-savoury aroma that Korean street food does so well. I’ve eaten my way through a fair share of London’s fried chicken spots, from Soho independents to big-name chains, and this one stands out for doing the basics exceptionally well while still feeling fun and modern.

The menu is tight, which I always see as a good sign. Instead of overwhelming you with dozens of options, they focus on Korean fried chicken, loaded fries, rice bowls, and a handful of sides. The wings come in different heat levels, from soy garlic to fiery gochujang. On my last visit, I tried the signature tenders with a spicy glaze and a side of kimchi slaw. The coating was audibly crisp-clearly double-fried, which is the traditional Korean method. That technique, widely discussed by culinary institutes and chefs like Judy Joo of the Korean Food Foundation, removes excess moisture and creates that light, shattering crunch. You can taste the difference.

What impressed me most was the balance. Korean fried chicken is known for its thin, crisp crust and sticky sauce that clings without turning soggy. Here, the glaze was glossy but not heavy. Even after sitting for a few minutes while we chatted, the chicken held its texture. That’s not easy to achieve in a busy shopping centre location where turnover is constant.

Speaking of location, being inside Westfield makes it ideal for a quick lunch or a refuel after shopping. The seating is casual diner-style, with bright branding and an open kitchen that lets you see the frying process in action. Cleanliness and efficiency matter in high-traffic spots like this, and from what I observed, the staff maintained good hygiene practices. According to the UK Food Standards Agency, proper temperature control and food handling are critical in poultry service, and the steady flow of freshly cooked batches suggests they take that seriously.

Nutritionally, fried chicken isn’t everyday health food, and it’s fair to acknowledge that. The NHS recommends moderating intake of deep-fried foods due to saturated fat and calorie density. That said, enjoying a portion as part of a balanced diet is perfectly reasonable. Seoul Bird does offer rice bowls with fresh toppings and slaw, which provide some fibre and vegetables alongside the protein-heavy mains. I appreciated the option to customise spice levels too-heat isn’t just about thrill; capsaicin, found in chilli peppers, has been studied for potential metabolism and anti-inflammatory benefits, though of course, it’s not a magic solution.

Customer reviews across platforms consistently highlight the crispiness of the chicken and the bold flavours. On my visit, the service was quick but not rushed. When I asked about the difference between the soy garlic and the spicy glaze, the staff member explained the ingredients clearly-fermented soy, fresh garlic, Korean chilli paste-without sounding scripted. That kind of product knowledge adds credibility and shows proper training.

Price-wise, it sits comfortably in the mid-range for London casual dining. You’re paying more than you would at a standard fast-food chain, but the quality of ingredients and the cooking method justify it. The portion sizes are generous; a box of wings and loaded fries easily works for sharing. I’ve seen groups of friends split platters while debating which sauce wins, and that communal feel mirrors the street-food culture Seoul is famous for.

There are, of course, limits. It’s not a quiet, intimate dinner spot. The food court atmosphere can get loud during peak hours, and seating isn’t designed for long, lingering meals. But that’s part of its identity. It’s vibrant, fast-paced, and built for flavour-forward comfort food.

If you’re craving crispy Korean fried chicken in West London, this spot delivers on texture, taste, and consistency. Between the carefully executed frying method, punchy sauces, and reliable service, it earns its place among the city’s go-to casual dining options.

  • Even thinking about the food and looking at the pic makes my mouth water everything we ordered (as seen in the pic) was amazing, and I absolutely relished that cheesy sauce over the chicken!!! 10/10 definitely getting this again when I’m back in White City

  • Very nice lunch at Seoul Bird, first time trying it. The glass noodles were so delicious. The grilled chicken thighs were spot on. The fried chicken tenders lacked some seasoning though. Overall, a very decent meal

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seoul Bird – White City Westfield There’s something about Seoul Bird that instantly feels intentional. Every plate lands with energy with golden, crisp chicken that crackles as you cut through it, glass noodles that catch the light, and a slaw so fresh it practically glows. This isn’t just Korean street food; it’s comfort food reimagined. The portions are generous, the balance is smart crunch, spice, and a touch of sweetness that keeps you reaching for one more bite. It’s clean, confident cooking served fast but never rushed. Even in the bustle of Westfield, the vibe stays calm and curated a quick-serve space that still feels like a moment. Friendly staff, spotless tables, and food that looks as good as it tastes. If you’re anywhere near White City, this is your reset: flavour-forward, beautifully plated, and unapologetically good. We loved it so much we came back during the second week of half term and they showered us with some cute masks ⭐

  • I come here quite often, and every time the experience is great thanks to Madalin. If you're looking for a refreshing drink, the mixed Berry and lychee green tea is the best choice. The food is also nice, highly recommend trying the signature burger or the chicken ranch fries.

  • Lovely food, but its a shame that they only provide a tiny cup of sauce for a giant bowl of lovely food. Please increase your sauce tub size so that we can enjoy it thoroughly. Overly lovely food with healthy amount of salad.
